Waterberg Plateau National Park

After eight years, The Waterberg National Park has been awarded to one of our outfitters, Jofie Lamprecht, as an exclusive hunting concession. Waterberg Plateau is a particularly prominent location, elevated high above the plains of the Kalahari of Eastern Namibia. Waterberg National Park was declared a Nature Reserve in 1972. The plateau is largely inaccessible; therefore several of Namibia's endangered species were protected from predators and poaching. In 1989, black rhinos were reintroduced to the area from Damaraland. The Waterberg Plateau National Park is ecologically diverse and rich, and has over 200 different species of bird with some rare species of small antelope on the lower hills of the mountain. On top of the Waterberg plateau, geologically, the oldest rock stratum is over 850 million years old and dinosaur tracks were left there some 200 million years ago. The first human inhabitants were the San people, who left rock engravings believed to be several thousand years old. A small tribe of the San were still living their traditional lifestyle on the plateau until the late 1960's. The Plateau towers 1200 feet above the surrounding plains, and 5650 feet above sea level, dominating the landscape for miles around. The initial intention of the park was to preserve the eland antelope. Eland numbers had declined because of unchecked hunting as they crossed commercial farmland. The eland having made a come-back, the park focuses on protecting Namibia's currently most endangered species such as the black rhino, white rhino, tsessebe, roan and sable. Buffalo also occur in the park in large numbers. The area has not been hunted for the last eight years, so trophy quality will be exceptional. Contact us today for package prices on safaris for Buffalo, Sable, Roan, White Rhino and Plains game.

Hi,
My name is Doyle Bruner. I absolutely love to hunt and there is no place like Africa to do it. My first trip in 1996, which took two
years to plan, was one of the high points in my life. It was to be a "trip of a lifetime"!! I have been back on 16 safaris since then. Most of them are to check out new locations so I can offer you the best value for your dollar. I only book for outfitters that promote fair-chase, respect the environment and give great service. I can even make the arrangements for your airline tickets, and pre or post safari tours to such places as Victoria Falls.

My desire is to see that you have just as spectacular an experience as I had on that first safari. I will try to match you to the PH, country   and type safari that best suits you. All my trips are tailored for you. Email me Doyle@KhoisanAdventures.com or give me a call at 850-582-1983 and let's discuss your options.

Thanks for visiting my website.
Sincerely,
Doyle Bruner
