Mozambique

Mozambique is situated in the South East of Africa. It is the spirit of African Safaris. You will be rewarded with the awesome sight of vast wilderness areas, unchanged from their past fame as Africa's greatest hunting lands. The variety and quality of wildlife is quite remarkable. You will hunt in varied terrain, open plains, savannah, sand, forests and swamp.

Mozambique borders Tanzania to the north, Zambia and Malawi to the northwest, Zimbabwe to the west, and South Africa and Swaziland to the southwest. To the east lie the Indian Ocean and a coastline of nearly 2500km with tropical beaches, coral reefs and strings of islands. A vast low plateau rises towards the mountains in the west and north and accounts for nearly half of the area of Mozambique. The landscape of the plateau is savannah, more or less dry and open woodlands with tracts of short grass. The western and northern highlands are patched with forests. The Zambezi is the largest of the 25 main rivers which flow through Mozambique into the Indian Ocean.

Our concession area 11, is part of the Marromeu complex and borders the mighty Zambezi river. It is approximately 280 square miles. The area is located in the central part of Mozambique and near the coast.

Accommodation is provided in off-the-ground safari-style tents, each accommodating two people. Comfortable beds, tables, chairs, cupboards, linen and insect repellent are provided. En-suite ablutions offer hot/cold water showers and basins and flush toilets. Basic toiletries and towels are provided. The tents are serviced daily and a laundry service is provided. Scrumptious meals and drinks are served around a campfire on a communal dining deck. A fully equipped off-road trailer is used for fly-camping.

Hunting season is from the 1st June to the 30th November.

The weather in Mozambique is generally warm all year round. You can expect rain all year round. Average temperatures range from 65f - 85f. Mozambique is a Malaria area and clients should discuss taking a mosquito prophylaxis.

Since 1990, Mozambique has been developing as a tourist mecca once again. The most popular areas for pre/post safari stops is the South Coast, particularly Maputo, formerly known as Lourenco Marques, and the islands of Inhaca, Benquerra and Bazaruto. You may also visit the island of Madagascar.

Hi,
My name is Doyle Bruner. I absolutely love to hunt and there is no place like Africa to do it. My first trip in 1996, which took two
years to plan, was one of the high points in my life. It was to be a "trip of a lifetime"!! I have been back on 16 safaris since then. Most of them are to check out new locations so I can offer you the best value for your dollar. I only book for outfitters that promote fair-chase, respect the environment and give great service. I can even make the arrangements for your airline tickets, and pre or post safari tours to such places as Victoria Falls.

My desire is to see that you have just as spectacular an experience as I had on that first safari. I will try to match you to the PH, country   and type safari that best suits you. All my trips are tailored for you. Email me Doyle@KhoisanAdventures.com or give me a call at 850-582-1983 and let's discuss your options.

Thanks for visiting my website.
Sincerely,
Doyle Bruner
